Literations in the news

The MetroWest Daily News published a cover story about our expansion to and innovative partnership with Framingham Public Schools. Since January, volunteer Literacy Coaches have been working with students at the McCarthy and Stapleton elementary Schools. The article, which you can read here, spotlights our collaborative approach to addressing the growing literacy crisis.

An article published in the New York Times last week warned that we are facing a "reading emergency." In fall 2021, early reading scores were at a 20-year low. In President Biden's State of the Union address, he encouraged Americans to sign up to be a tutor or mentor to respond to this crisis. Literations was praised in another article on the 75million.org as an example of what Americans can do to help young students.

Throughout our service area, Literations is bringing our high-impact literacy interventions to more children in need. We are grateful to our supporters and volunteers who continue to show up for young readers when they need it most!

Generations Incorporated

We envision a day when all children are proficient readers when they enter 4th Grade. Literacy is the key to academic success and can be a path out of poverty.

Generations Incorporated strives to improve the literacy skills of young children through Grade 3. We also provide meaningful opportunities to older adults who serve as literacy volunteers in our partner schools and after school programs in low-income communities.
